Kitchen Porter
Position Summary
Contributes to Angel of the Winds Casino’s mission, values and vision of being the “World’s Friendliest Casino”. Support the food and beverage department by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives stock as it is delivered.
- Puts stock in proper storage area as it is received.
- Notifies Food Purchaser/Administration Manager when food items are nearing expiration.
- Keeps food storage areas in a neat, clean, orderly, and sanitary manner.
- Assists Food Purchaser/Administration Manager with monthly inventories.
- Cleans coolers, freezers, dry storage areas and other areas as assigned on a daily basis.
- Weighs and takes temperatures of products on delivery.
- Ensures freshness of all products upon delivery.
- Ensures miss-picks of product as well as any damaged products are sent back immediately.
- May transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- May assist in the set up of banquet events.
- Follows established standards for handling, storing, and rotating all products properly.
- Follows all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines as necessary.
- Performs as a team member with other food and beverage staff so as to produce a smooth and efficiently run operation on a scheduled shift.
- Provides attentive and friendly service to customers.
- Correctly completes all required paperwork per company procedure.
- Communicates any guest complaints, problems or compliments to a supervisor as soon as possible.
- Attends all mandatory department, casino and/or training meetings.
- Follows all department and casino policies, procedures, and regulations as required.
- Ensures compliance with Tribal, State, Federal, and NIGC regulations.
- Ensures control/protection of company assets as applicable.
- Works days, nights, weekends, special events, overtime and holidays as needed.
- Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.
- Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule and subject to change.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or one to three months related experience and/or training helpful; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Knowledge of a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation.
- Skills in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions.
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, special events and holidays as required.
- Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screen.
Required Licensures, Certificates, Permits and Other Regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class II/B gaming license with the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency (TGA).
- Washington State health card (food worker card).

- Occasionally involves light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force to move objects.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Frequently requires working in walk-in refrigerators and freezers at temperatures as low as -10F.
- Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication.
- Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Constantly requires working with fingers and the whole hand or arm.
- Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- Frequently requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.
- Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Infrequently requires crouching.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
